Laburnum × watereri 'Vossii' is prized for its long, hanging flower clusters in late spring and early summer, creating a striking display above fresh green foliage.

Supplied approximately 1.75–2 m tall as a maiden tree with a rootball, this young specimen offers the opportunity to develop its framework as it grows. Position it where the hanging flowers can be enjoyed against a leafy backdrop or as a seasonal focal point.

Why choose 'Vossii'?

Long, pendulous clusters of golden-yellow flowers.

A distinctive late-spring to early-summer display.

Green deciduous foliage with seasonal autumn colour.

Typically produces fewer seeds than many other laburnums, but is not seed-free.

Young maiden form for establishing and developing in the garden.

Supplied size and form

Supplied approximately 1.75–2 m tall as a maiden tree with a rootball. This is the supplied height, not its eventual mature size. Branching and appearance vary naturally, and a maiden tree should not be expected to have the developed crown of a mature standard.

Position and growing conditions

Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil and enough room for the tree's crown and roots to develop. Avoid persistently waterlogged ground. Water regularly during dry spells while the tree establishes and keep the base free of competing weeds.

Important planting consideration

All parts of laburnum are poisonous if eaten, particularly the seeds. Reduced seed production does not make 'Vossii' safe to eat. Choose its position carefully where children or pets may have access, and wear gloves when handling or pruning.
