Plant in spring in very well-drained soil in a sunny position. Yucca rostrata is ideal for gravel gardens, raised beds, or large containers. Ensure excellent drainage - add grit or sand to heavy soils. Water sparingly once established. In containers, use a gritty, free-draining compost. Protect from excessive winter wet rather than cold. Remove dead lower leaves as needed. Feed container plants with a balanced fertiliser in spring.
