Acer Palmatum: Firecracker

The Japanese maple 'Firecracker' has attractive feathery leaves in a very deep red/purple colour. As It is slow-growing this makes it ideal for smaller gardens while still making an attractive feature. Because of its slow growth it can be kept as a small tree or shrub. The purple leaves in summer turn to a vivid orange and red in autumn before falling in winter. It generally likes a sheltered spot with partial or full sun.
