Acer shirasawanum 'Jordan' - Japanese Maple

'Jordan' is a vibrant acer tree with an upright growing habit. The wide fan leaves have short serrated lobes. It opens up in spring with pale orange-green leaves that turn to a vivid lime green in summer. This colour then progresses to a orange-red as it heads towards autumn. It has tiny purple flowers in spring followed by deep red winged fruit in autumn.

Planting Instructions

Plant in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Choose a sheltered position with partial shade to protect the foliage and maintain the best colour. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball, position level with the soil surface, backfill and firm in well. Water thoroughly after planting and regularly during the first growing season. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and protect roots from frost.
