Grow the excellent Elstar apple from Holland. This dessert apple tree crops heavily, stores well, and has outstanding juiciness and flavour. The apples are medium-sized with a green-yellow colour flushed with bright red. Elstar produces white-pink blossom in mid-spring and crops from late September through October.

Planting Instructions
Plant in autumn or early spring in moist, well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot protected from cold winds and late frosts. Plant with another Group 3 apple (such as Cox's Orange Pippin, Discovery, or James Grieve) for cross-pollination. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball, incorporate compost, firm well and water thoroughly. Stake for two years. Mulch around the base. Water regularly for the first two seasons and during dry spells. Feed with balanced fertiliser in early spring. Prune in winter when dormant.
