Planting & Care

Plant in spring in well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered position. Eucalyptus dislikes waterlogged soil and cold winds. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Once established, it's drought-tolerant. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring. Can be grown as a single-stemmed tree or coppiced annually in spring to maintain a shrub-like form with juvenile foliage (which is more silvery-blue). Stake young trees for the first 1-2 years. In exposed locations, provide shelter from cold winds.
