Fagus sylvatica Pleached Beech

The pleached beech is one of Britain's most beloved native trees, trained into a refined elevated canopy for instant privacy and year-round structure. Its rich green summer foliage transitions to warm copper-bronze in autumn, with dead leaves held well into winter — giving you screening and seasonal drama in equal measure.

This pleached tree is a large item that requires specialised delivery to your address. Please be aware this is a 'kerbside' delivery. We can discuss your requirements to suit your individual needs . Our specialised delivery service covers mainland U.K  only. Please allow between 14 to 28 days for your order to be delivered to you . This allows us to select premium quality trees and have them delivered in a cost effective way whilst preventing damage in transit.  Our current delivery charges:

Orders £150.00-£350.00 = £100.00 delivery charge.

Orders £351.00- £700.00 = £70.00 delivery charge.

Key Features

  • Outstanding winter interest: copper-brown dead foliage is retained through winter, maintaining privacy even when deciduous trees are bare
  • Architectural form: trained flat canopy on a clear stem — a classic choice for formal and contemporary gardens
  • Privacy screening: ideal for screening at height without sacrificing ground space
  • Native species: supports a wide range of UK wildlife including moths, birds, and small mammals
  • UK hardy: fully hardy throughout Britain in most soil types

Growing Guide

Plant in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Trim once or twice a year — ideally in late summer — to maintain the flat pleached frame. Avoid waterlogged conditions. Mulch well after planting to retain moisture.

Perfect For

Formal gardens, country estates, urban boundaries, avenue planting, and anywhere a classic British hedging tree is called for at height.
