Planting Instructions
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Shelter from cold, drying winds and prolonged hard frosts. In containers, use a loam-based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
Water regularly until established. Once mature, Bay Laurel is moderately drought-tolerant. Clip to shape in late spring and late summer. Harvest leaves as needed throughout the year. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring.
Size & Specification
Supplied in a 3 litre pot at 60–80cm height. Slow-growing and long-lived — ultimate height up to 12m if unpruned, but easily maintained at any desired size by regular clipping. Fully evergreen. Hardiness RHS H4 (hardy in most of the UK).
