Photinia serrulata 'Pink Crispy' is a spectacular evergreen hedging plant that delivers year-round visual drama with its brilliant pink and copper new growth. This premium cultivar stands out from traditional photinias with its intensely coloured, crisp-textured foliage that emerges in vivid shades of pink and red before maturing to glossy dark green.
Imagine the impact of a hedge that constantly renews itself with flushes of vibrant colour throughout the growing season — each wave of new growth brings fresh pink tones that contrast beautifully against the established dark foliage. Planting Instructions
Plant in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Full sun produces the most vibrant foliage colour. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and to the same depth. Firm in well and water thoroughly after planting.
Space plants 60–80cm apart for a dense hedge or screen. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring to encourage vigorous new growth.
Size & Specification
Supplied as a pot-grown shrub ready for year-round planting. A vigorous, upright evergreen shrub reaching 2–4m in height. Responds well to trimming and can be maintained as a formal hedge or shaped specimen.
Delivery & Dispatch
Grown and dispatched from Stoneybrook Nursery. All plants are carefully packaged to arrive in excellent condition and ready to plant. Delivery is to mainland UK addresses. Orders are typically dispatched within 3–5 working days.
Wildlife & Ecological Notes
Produces clusters of small white flowers in late spring which attract pollinators including bees and hoverflies. Dense evergreen foliage provides year-round shelter and nesting cover for birds. Red berries (where produced) may be taken by thrushes and other garden birds in autumn and winter.
