Planting Instructions

Plant 60–90cm apart for a dense, formal hedge. Cherry laurel 'Novita' thrives in full sun to full shade and tolerates most well-drained soils including clay. Avoid waterlogged ground.

Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and to the same depth. Backfill, firm in well, and water thoroughly. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Water regularly during the first growing season. Trim once a year in late summer using secateurs to maintain a neat, dense hedge.

Size & Specification

Supplied in a 20/25 litre pot — a larger grade than typical hedging stock, giving a more developed root system and faster establishment. More compact and upright than standard Cherry Laurel. Planting density 1–2 plants per metre (60–90cm spacing). Ultimate height 3–5m easily maintained at any desired height. Fully hardy (RHS H6). Fully evergreen.

Delivery & Dispatch

Dispatched within 3–5 working days via specialist plant courier. Due to pot size and weight, delivery is by pallet to mainland UK addresses only. You will receive a dispatch notification with tracking details. Please ensure suitable access for a pallet vehicle and someone available to receive the delivery.

Wildlife & Ecological Notes

White flower spikes in spring attract bees and other pollinators. Dark berries in late summer and autumn provide food for blackbirds, thrushes, and other berry-feeding birds. Dense evergreen growth offers year-round shelter and nesting cover for garden birds.
