Acer campestre 'Elegans' - Premium Upright Slender Field Maple for sale.

Acer campestre 'Elegans' is an exceptional cultivar of the native Field Maple, distinguished by its upright and compact growth habit. This elegant specimen tree offers year-round interest with pink-edged leaves in spring, maturing to green, followed by spectacular golden-yellow autumn colour.

Key Features

  • Pink-edged spring foliage maturing to fresh green
  • Compact upright habit ideal for smaller gardens and urban spaces
  • Excellent golden-yellow autumn colour display
  • Hardy and adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions
  • Tolerant of urban pollution and exposed sites
  • Low maintenance once established

Planting and Care

Plant in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Full sun produces the best variegation and autumn colour. Water regularly during the first two years to establish a strong root system. Mulch around the base to retain moisture. Minimal pruning required — remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches in late winter.

Ideal Uses

Perfect as a specimen tree for small to medium gardens, courtyard spaces, and urban landscapes. Its compact size and bright yellow autumn foliage make it particularly valuable for focal points, mixed borders, and architectural settings. Also suitable for avenue planting in smaller spaces.
