Fagus sylvatica — Common Beech — is one of Britain's most majestic native trees, and this mature feathered specimen brings instant, established presence to any garden or landscape setting. Supplied in a 20-litre pot at 1.8–2m tall, with full branching from the base, it arrives ready to make an immediate impact.

In spring, fresh lime-green foliage unfolds along every branch, catching the light with a luminous quality that few trees can match. Through summer, the canopy deepens to a rich mid-green, providing dense screening and structure. Come autumn, the transformation is spectacular — leaves turn warm golden copper and russet-brown before the tree performs its most distinctive trick: marcescence. Juvenile and lower branches retain their dried leaves through winter, creating a rustling, tawny screen that continues to provide privacy and visual interest long after other deciduous trees have shed.

Key Features:

  • Mature feathered specimen — branched to the base for immediate screening
  • Exceptional four-season interest: spring green, summer canopy, autumn colour, winter leaf retention
  • Vigorous and long-lived — a generational garden investment
  • Fully hardy throughout the UK
  • Supplied in 20-litre pot at 1.8–2m

Growing Conditions:
Thrives in full sun to partial shade in any well-drained soil, including chalk. Tolerates exposed positions once established. Ideal for specimen planting, avenue planting, or as an instant screen. Can also be maintained as a formal hedge.
