Planting & Care

Plant from autumn to spring. Dig a trench the same depth as the trough and slightly wider. Remove the trough carefully and place the hedge in the trench, ensuring it's level. Backfill with soil mixed with organic matter and firm well. Water thoroughly after planting and regularly during the first growing season. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring. Trim once a year in late summer after the main growth period to maintain shape and encourage dense growth. Hornbeam responds excellently to regular trimming and can be maintained at any desired height.
